END TO A GOOD SEASON
At the end of the season we felt something needed to be done for our divers that could not, through any fault of their own make the national dives. So we put on a small Club Dive at Meadsfoot Beach knowing that it can be very fishy late in the season. Our members came from all over Devon and Cornwall with Andy Broad travelling up from Newquay
We had got it right! As I entered the water, in twenty foot viz I could see several bass up to five pound in my field of vision. Over the next four hours they came at me in ones or in small shoals until I ended up with 10 Bass & 3 big mullet. Theres no better feeling ( In the water that is ) as when you are really relaxed after a long season and everything you aim at, you hit.
The one person that stood out to me was young James Miller, he may be the boy to watch if he enters all comps in 2003. Also Pete Crawford still competing at a age when most people are pottering around the garden or out with Saga Holidays.
On the day some may say I was lucky (But a real man makes his luck) (Quote
from the film Titanic) that was my first bit of luck this year.
