2023 World Freshwater Spearfishing Championships

Dear All BSA Members,

The USA is hosting the 2023 World Freshwater Spearfishing Championships in Lake Powell on the boarder of Utah & Arizona. This is not a CMAS official event, and therefore the BSA can not offer financial support to this event but participants will be supported in every other way possible.

The competition is on 18th/19th May 2023 and divers would likely need around a 2 week stay/trip to cover scouting. The fishing is generally between 3-13m so available to all levels of divers.

Teams for GB consist of pairs. Ideally two pairs would be going, womens and mens but there is no limit to the number of teams for GBR.
Please see the website for more information http://www.freshwaterworlds.com

Selection priority will be given to those who have finished in the top twenty over the last two years of BSA competitions combined, but open to all BSA members who have competed in competitions in 2021 and 2022. Please see the photo below for the rankings.

If you would like any more information, or have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with any member of the BSA Committee, on social media or by email (bsachairman@underwaterfishing.co.uk).

Kind regards,
The BSA Committee
