LIC Pairs 2026

The London International Club would like to invite you to the 2026 Pairs Competition in Devon on Saturday 4th July 2026. There is no back-up date, so if bad weather entry fees will be refunded.

The competition is open to all spearfishers 18 and above. Any potential entries U18 are to contact pairscomp@yahoo.com for special consideration before entry. Competitors shall dive in pairs and can dive wherever they choose in the UK, from boat or shore. The competition starts at first light on the 4^th of July. There is no meeting prior to the competition but competitors must be at the weigh-in at the Holsome Park Campsite (TQ9 7NA) in Devon (see details below) by 5pm.

A meal will be held after the weigh-in and is open to all competitors as well as registered friends & family. Food will be provided and is included in the entry fee (see below). Participants are encouraged to bring their own drinks. Potable water is available at the venue if needed. Valid species are Bass, Bream (all species), Pollack, Cod, Mullet (all species) and Flatfish (all species except Skate and Rays). Each team (pair) weighs in their biggest specimen for each of the 6 categories. Prizes are awarded for the heaviest fish of each category and for the biggest crustacean. Shore divers are at a disadvantage versus boat divers, so will be recognised when awarding prizes when possible. The Club welcomes some donations of crustaceans and filleted fish for the Seafood Curry.

The LIC Pairs Competition is a great opportunity to promote spearfishing in the UK, encourage teamwork, quality, diversity of catches and have fun. Sponsorships and prizes include top quality gear from a number of different sponsors.

Divers dive at their own risk. By entering this competition, divers agree to take full responsibility for their own safety and to abide by the competition rules.

RULES

• Valid species: Bass, Bream (all species), Pollack, Cod, Mullet (all species), Flatfish (all species except Skate and Rays);

• Each team (pair) weighs in their biggest specimen for each of the 6 categories (therefore max 6 fish per team will be weighed in);

• Prizes are awarded for the heaviest fish of each category.

In addition, the winning specimen weighed in for each of the 6 categories gets awarded 100%. All other fish are awarded a percentage of the weight of the winning specimen for that category. The overall prize goes to the team with the highest combined percentage from all 6 categories. A separate prize will also be given for the biggest crustacean.

Catches are subject to the following minimum fish sizes: Bass (45cm), Bream (28 cm), Pollack (36 cm), Cod (45 cm), Mullet (36 cm), Flatfish (36 cm).

ACCOMMODATION

We’ve booked the whole campsite for the weekend so we will have plenty of places for camping/campervans. There is NO indoor accommodation this year. You will be able to book camping spots for Friday, Saturday or both. Arrival on the Friday from 3pm and leaving on the Sunday by midday. There is no need to check in with site owners on arrival.

Braais will be available Friday night if you want to cook any of your own food.

ENTRY FEES

Entry fee per pair: £60 (this includes the cost of the braai/barbeque for the 2 competitors). Additional attendees at the barbeque: £15 per person (Under 15 free). *Prices exclude booking fee (60p per ticket). All entry fees must be received by 25^th of June 2026 to facilitate the organisation of the event.

PARKING

There is plenty of parking available on the campsite, a standard pitch includes parking for 1 car.
